In the early 1980s Mother Theresa visited the Home of the Missionaries of Charity at Eravelli, Kochi, Kerala, I happened to be among the battery of photographers in the room.
I was using my fathers 1954 model Zeiss Ikon Contessa with no flash gun. Mother Theresa must have noticed this
because she walked upto me and said she didn’t think I would get good pictures in that light. And then to my surprise she asked me ” where would you like me to stand?” It was so unexpected that I was stunned but I quickly indicated a place near a window where the light was streaming in.
She was so approachable that I was able to ask her if she would pose with my family. She smiled at me and nodded. I took a few picures; my father took the one of me with Mother Theresa.
These are the pictures taken on that memorable day.
